ill-iterate

some thoughts make me ill - over and over again.

to pick and choose the right information avenues
requires a full armored vest and a positive attitude
because while most people pretend to care
that there's a violent surge of misinformation out there,
it's a full-time job sifting through all the ill spread lies
and who really has that kind of time.

instead all that white collar crime
breeds more and more people like me who can see
how hard it is to be free in a controlled democracy
when knowledge is power, and we're fighting for open technology.

now, the heart of a warrior beats inside me like gandhi
when society throws all its blackness it has up on me
when being black or a person of color means criminality
despite clinging to words like innocent until proven guilty
words existing only to spite the minority
groups of marginalized made to feel excluded from the authorities
since neutrality is only shown to the rich feeding superiority
instead of hungry mouths or minds of those in society
with the ability to create a better world for us all.
